TheSupernatural

Magic, the occult, and the supernatural are steeped in old folklore, pushed aside by the industrial revolution and the politics of the Great War. They still very much exist, in many forms, and with many different sources.

In the British Empire, the most common human magicians are witches (who draw their power from a collective of man and nature), warlocks (who have made pacts with Satan or other demons), Faqir mystics (whose power is said to come from within, from a connection to God, or both), and the fey touched (whose powers are unpredictable, and a gift from the fairies). Gypsies (Roma) are also known to use magic, most are witches - but some still draw power from the writhing spirit of Dracula, whereabouts unknown.

Most magic users will use Mental Ability for their skills, and individual spells will be recorded as Traits, granting special actions.

Spellcasting skills are directly related to the type of spellcasting in question, though specializations will also exist. Examples: Witchcraft is a skill, with example specializations being Healing, Shadows, or Animals. Warlocks may specialize in things like influence, hellfire, or summoning.

In addition to magic, supernatural creatures exist, both on Earth, and coming from realms unknown, such as the invisible courts of the fey, or Hell.

The Hussars often ally themselves with different occultists, though those who oppose the dominion of the British Empire are rightly thwarted, and can suffer in the pits of Hell - or in a research cell.
